85岁母亲（吴彦姝 饰）和65岁女儿（奚美娟 饰）共同生活。女儿背负着对父亲的愧疚，过着清教徒般的生活，阿尔茨海默病让她变成了另外一个人，年迈的母亲需要付出顽强的生命力照顾女儿。两个生命在进程中彼此成全彼此辉映。
本片男主角木晅身为国内著名催眠师，为人沉稳有担当，被许多人喜爱女主角秦爽是个营养师，为帮助母亲治病拼命赚钱。这一天，木晅参加一个访谈类节目，却被主持人当中爆出患有严重失眠症。事后，木晅才得知是自己的私人营养师秦爽，将自己失眠的事八卦出去的。木晅大为恼火，与秦爽争吵起来。两人一见面便冲突连连，水火难容。因合同绑定，两人不得不相处一天，谁想一天的时间竟让两人产生感情，就在当晚，木晅竟向秦爽提出求婚。可第二天清晨，当木晅再次见到秦爽时，秦爽却什么都不记得了。一切不得不重新开始，木晅却豪不惊讶，似乎这都在他的意料之中……
故事开始于1977年，一表人才的知青陈实（黄觉 饰）邂逅了单纯善良的邻家姑娘田春妮（郝蕾 饰）。一场意外让陈实暂时失去了视力，在田春妮的精心照料下，陈实幸运的康复了，这段经历亦让两人最终走到了一起，成立了家庭。 高考恢复后，陈实走进了考场，凭借着努力和智慧顺利的考取了医学院，在上大学期间，陈实认识了名为严真真（罗昱焜 饰）的女同学，后者向陈实展开了热烈的追求。最终，在严真真的挑拨离间下，田春妮和陈实的婚姻破裂了。直到离婚之后，田春妮才发现，自己腹中已经怀上了陈实的孩子，她选择隐瞒这一切，独自生下抚养孩子长大。
二战期间，纳粹占领下的罗马尼亚村庄中德军士兵被杀，德军限令村人第二天交出凶手，否则将杀害村中十位头面人物。危急之际，众人想到让村里的疯子伊普冒名顶罪，一场混合着笑与泪的战争喜剧便由此开始……本片翻拍自1972年的罗马尼亚影片《伊普之死》，演员阵容豪华，除由法国影帝大鼻子情圣德帕迪约领衔外，更有老戏骨哈威·凯特尔（《落水狗》、《钢琴课》）及威尼斯影后劳拉·莫瑞特（《心之归属》）倾情助演。影片画面精致，结局最是出人意料。
